FAQ

Common questions.

Short answers about adding, using and managing NiX™.

What is NiX™?

NiX™ is a Discord bot for running a server. It handles moderation, welcome messages and roles, logging, and a set of everyday utilities, all through slash commands.

How do I add NiX™ to my server?

Use the Add to Discord button, pick your server and approve the permissions. You need the Manage Server permission on that server. After NiX™ joins, run /setup to configure it. The getting started guide covers every step.

Does NiX™ need Administrator?

No. The invite asks only for the permissions that its commands use, and the permissions page explains the reason for each one. You can remove any permission, but commands that depend on it will stop working.

Why don't I see NiX™ slash commands?

Type
/
and look for the NiX™ icon. If nothing appears, check that the bot was invited with the
applications.commands
scope, that Use Application Commands is allowed for you in that channel, and then restart Discord. The troubleshooting guide has more detail.

Why can't NiX™ ban, kick or give a role to someone?

Discord only lets a bot act on members whose highest role is below the bot's own. Drag the NiX™ role above the roles it needs to manage in Server Settings, then Roles.

What data does NiX™ store?

NiX™ stores the settings you choose for your server, along with moderation cases and warnings. It does not sell data. The privacy policy lists exactly what is kept, for how long, and how to ask for deletion.

How do I remove NiX™ and my server's data?

Kick the bot from Server Settings, then Members. To have the stored data deleted as well, ask in the support server from an account that owns or manages the server.

How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?

Join the support server and post in the bug or suggestion channels. Include the command you ran, what you expected, and what happened instead.

Is there a way to check whether NiX™ is online?

Yes. The status page shows whether the bot is reachable and links to announcements.
